Voice actress and singer Ayana Taketatsu covered Maaya Sakamoto’s “Platinum” on the CrosSing channel. The song was Sakamoto’s 6th single and was used as an opening theme song for the Cardcaptor Sakura anime.
“Platinum” (also known as Platina) was initially released on October 21, 1999. Yuho Iwasato wrote the lyrics, while Yuko Kanno composed the music and did the arrangement.
Ayana Taketatsu was born in 1989 in Japan. She is well known among anime fans, having voiced characters in many fan-favorite titles. She is known as Azusa Nakano from K-On!, Suguha Kirigaya/Leafa from the Sword Art Online franchise, Kirino Kosaka from Oreimo, Koneko Tojo from High School DxD, Kaede Kayano from Assassination Classroom, and more. She also voiced Nino Nakano from Quintessential Quintuplets, Kotori Itsuka from Date A Live, and Kei Karuizawa from Classroom of the Elite. She has voiced characters in games as well, including Frederika Nikola Tesla from Honkai Impact 3rd, W in Arknights, as well as her anime characters in video game adaptations, among others. Taketatsu also has a music career and has released 3 studio albums so far, along with a compilation album. She is married to Yuki Kaji and they recently announced that they are expecting their first child.
CrosSing is a project aimed at bringing together popular voice actors and singers, who then cover a song originally sung by someone else; Ayana Taketatsu is the latest person to cover a song for the channel. In the past, they have hosted Kana Hanazawa, Yui Ishikawa, Akari Kito, Masayoshi Oishi, and more.
