Oshi no Ko Creditless Opening Video Reaches 10 Million Views in 2 Weeks

The creditless version of Oshi no Ko‘s opening song video reached 10 million views two weeks after its release. The opening song is titled “Idol” by the music duo YOASOBI and it will be getting an English version soon, judging by the tweet posted on the duo’s official account.

Meanwhile, the creditless ending song video performed by Queen Bee is currently at 5 million views.

Studio Doga Kobo (New Game!) is animating the series with Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection Project) as director and Saori Tachibana (Wasteful Days of High School Girls) as assistant director. Jin Tanaka (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club) is writing the scripts while Kanna Hirayama (Rent-a-Girlfriend) is doing the character designs.

The cast consists of Rie Takahashi as Ai Hoshino, Takeo Otsuka as Aquamarine Hoshino, Yurie Igoma as Ruby Hoshino, Megumi Han as Kana Arima, Manaka Iwami as Akane Kurokawa, and Rumi Okubo as Memcho. The anime was voted the most anticipated anime of Spring 2023 and is one of the season’s biggest trends.

The anime adaptation of Oshi no Ko is based on a manga series written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) with illustrations by Mengo Yokari (Scum’s Wish). Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump has been serializing the series since April 2020.

Yen Press is licensing the manga in English and they describe the first volume as follows:
Gorou is an ob-gyn with a life far removed from the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry—the world of his favorite idol, rising star Ai Hoshino. But when the two are unexpectedly brought together, their fates become intertwined in ways that defy all reason. For the good doctor, it’s time to stan(d) and deliver!
