The new anime trailer for JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2 TV anime was released yesterday at the MAPPA STAGE 2023 event, and it already exceeded 30 million views in 1 day when we combine the official YouTube and Twitter uploads. The trailer introduced the opening theme song for the new season, which is performed by Tatsuya Kitani and titled “Ao no Sumika” (Where Our Blue Is). At the time of writing, the trailer has around 4.4 million views on YouTube, and you can watch it below:

The anime (as part of a stacked Summer 2023 anime season) will run for 2 consecutive cours starting on July 6. It will cover the “Hidden Inventory/Premature Death” arc first, before moving on to the “Shibuya Incident” arc in the second part. The main staff for JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2 includes:

Takehito Koyasu joined the voice cast as one of the fan-favorite characters Toji Fushiguro, and Anna Nagase joined as Riko Amanai. The main cast is reprising their roles. They include Takahiro Sakurai as Suguru Geto, Yuichi Nakamura as Satoru Gojo, and Aya Endo as Shoko Ieiri. They’ve also released the new character designs for several of the characters.
Studio MAPPA animated both the 24-episode first season and movie for the franchise. Akutami Gege writes and draws the original manga, which is licensed by VIZ Media in English. Crunchyroll streams both the anime and movie, and they describe the story:
Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses… and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.
