Episode 5 of Attack on Titan: Final Season titled “Declaration of War” aired on January 11, 2021. Said episode was a huge turning point for the currently airing season and it was trending everywhere. It was so good that the series jumped from 5th place on MAL to 3rd place! However, not everyone watches Attack on Titan, so the “Declaration of War” hashtag that was trending on Twitter could’ve been a bit misleading. Needless to say, the current situation in America and the “Declaration of War” hashtag doesn’t go too well together. Some Americans even thought that a real declaration of war was happening somewhere in the world. Fortunately, nothing like that happened, and let’s hope it won’t happen anytime soon.
What’s more, the official Twitter for Attack on Titan anime released an illustration to celebrate the 5th episode, which got the hashtag even more viral:
The Tweet above says “Thank you for watching the Attack on Titan The Final Season Episode 5 “Declaration of War”. Stay tuned for next week’s broadcast!”.
For now, MAPPA is proving that they were a good choice when it came to “inheriting” the series. Every episode so far was extremely good and let’s hope that studio MAPPA will keep delivering! We truly can’t wait for the upcoming Episode 6 cause it seems that the show will start picking up its pace. If this week’s “Declaration of War” was trending on Twitter, Attack on Titan next episode “Warhammer Titan” will be trending next week for sure!
And in case you are one of the people who got scared by the hashtag. Attack on Titan is a popular Japanese manga series by Hajime Isayama. It is currently airing the final season of its anime adaptation. You can also read the full synopsis of the story:
Over a century ago, mankind was devoured by giant beings of unknown intelligence and origin known as Titans. Creatures that eat humans alive indiscriminately and for no apparent reason. The remaining population has managed to survive the last hundred years only by building a multi-walled city capable of keeping the Titans at bay, training military recruits to patrol the perimeter and gather intelligence about their mysterious foe. Eren and Mikasa have lived a relatively peaceful life behind the city’s walls. But when a massive Titan appears, smashing the outer barrier and unleashing a wave of terror, their lives are brutally changed forever…
It has 64 episodes so far, and is definitely worth checking out!
