A Couple of Cuckoos Season 2 Reveals Heroine Visual

The upcoming A Couple of Cuckoos Season 2 revealed a new heroine visual on Tuesday, spotlighting Erika Amano and Ai Mochizuki. The image is a recreation of a commemorative illustration originally drawn by manga creator Miki Yoshikawa to celebrate the anime’s sequel announcement. Season 2 of the series is set to premiere on July 8.

Additionally, to celebrate the upcoming release of the second season, a special program is scheduled on the evening of Tanabata (July 7). Cast members Akari Kito, Nao Toyama, and Hina Youmiya are expected to appear.

A Couple of Cuckoos Season 2 – Heroine Visual

Studio Okuruto Noboru is animating the sequel, replacing studios Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySP. Masakazu ‌Hishida is the new director, and the rest of the staff includes: Jo ‌Aoba as the series composition writer, Kyoko ‌Kon as the character designer, and Rei ‌Ishizuka as the music composer.

Hina Youmiya joins the cast as Ai Mochizuki voice cast while the rest will reprise their roles:

  • Akari Kito as Erika Amano
  • Kaito Ishikawa as Nagi Umino
  • Nao Toyama as Hiro Segawa
  • Konomi Kohara as Sachi Umino

The opening theme, which can be heard in the latest trailer, is “Kimi ga Kureta Mono” (“What You Gave Me”) is performed by asmi, while the ending theme song “Anata ‌de ‌nakucha” is sung by 22/7.

Kodansha licensed the manga in English and the describe the plot as follows:
16-year-old super-studier Nagi Umino, second-year student at the Meguro River Academy high school, was switched at birth. On his way to a dinner to meet his birth parents, he accidentally meets the brash, outspoken, Erika Amano, who is determined to make Nagi her fake boyfriend as she never wants to actually marry. But once Nagi makes it to dinner, he finds his parents have decided to resolve the hospital switch by conveniently having him marry the daughter his birth parents raised…who turns out to be none other than Erika herself!
