Kaiju No. 8 final arc anime has been officially announced at the Jump Festa 2026 event, along with a special original Gen Narumi short episode. A teaser visual and announcement trailer were shown at the event as well.

Studio Production I.G is animating again, with Studio Khara back in charge of the creature designs. The anime so far released a total of 23 episodes between April 13, 2024 and September 27, 2025.
The Kaiju No. 8 manga by Naoya Matsumoto began serialization in July 2020 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform. The manga series officially ended in July with Chapter 129 and was compiled into a total of 16 volumes. Viz Media is publishing it in English, describing the story:
Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she’s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There’s just one problem—he’s made the Defense Force’s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8.
The game adaptation of the franchise, Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME, exceeded 750,000 million pre-registrations and launched worldwide on August 31.
