The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the Tomb Raider King Korean animated series unveiled a new trailer and visual, alongside confirmation of a July 2025 debut for its Japanese dub. The Japanese voice actors for main character Seo Joo-Heon, as well as Irene Holton and Kwon Tae-Joon, were revealed to be Yoshimasa Hosoya, Saori Hayami, and Junichi Suwabe, respectively. QWER sings the opening theme song “SHOWDOWN”. Unlike Solo Leveling, it’s unclear whether Tomb Raider King will receive two Japanese dubs (one with Japanese names, and an international one retaining the original Korean). Seo Joo-Heon is known in the Japanese dub as Ryoga Goriki, and Kwon Tae-Joon is Taisei Ogawara. Irene Holton retains her name.

The series adapts the Korean manhwa by Sanji Jiksong (story), artist 3B2S, and Yuns of REDICE STUDIO, who adapted Jiksong’s original novel to webtoon form. It’s worth noting that REDICE STUDIO’s founder DUBU drew the Solo Leveling manhwa adaptation; the studio’s Brix and JIN handled the sequel series Solo Leveling: Ragnarok‘s webtoon story adaptation and art, respectively. The Tomb Raider King novel series is available in English via Wuxiaworld, while Tapas and Yen Press release the manhwa adaptation.

It’ll be interesting to see whether the similarities between the character designs of Tomb Raider King and Solo Leveling‘s main characters, their stories’ shared Korean origins, video game RPG elements, and weak-to-strong plotline entice Solo Leveling fans—who took the series to the most-watched of all time on Crunchyroll—at least in the beginning. (Some fans argue the stories are quite different.)

Tapas describes the manhwa:
Mysterious tombs appeared all over the world one day, each containing a relic which grants its owner supernatural abilities. Jooheon Suh is a tomb explorer, excavator, and raider. Betrayed by his employer, he’s about to die at the hands of a powerful new relic when he suddenly finds himself 15 years in the past, before any relics or tombs made their debut. Driven by feelings of revenge, how will Jooheon use his knowledge of the future to become the Tomb Raider King?
