The 2026 edition of the Yabai Exhibit will take place in LA at the Jagarhaus Gallery from July 2 to 5. Presented by JAST USA, this year’s edition promises a “four-day exhibition of color and form to explore identity, culture, and sexuality in a shared, in-person gallery experience.”
Key’s Hinoue Itaru, known for her character design on Clannad, Kanon, and Little Busters! will be this year’s premier artist. The 2026 Yabai Exhibit will feature several light novel and doujin illustrators; these include
- Kantoku — the character designer behind the A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics and A Sister’s All You Need, and the Sasaki and Peeps light novels
- Kindatsu (Illustrator)
- Chipushishi (Pixel Art)
- Ikezaki Misa (Illustrator)
- Kyocoro (Amnero, Melty Gaze)
- Mikoyan (MC☆Axis and Military Classics Magazine Illustrator)
- NLCH (Illustrator)
- Neyuki Rei (Illustrator)
- Oyari Ashito (How to Train Demi Human Maids, Giant Beasts of Ars)
- Satou Kuuki (Illustrator)
The Yabai Exhibit will also display the work of various R18 illustrators/authors. Attendees will be able to purchase select gallery pieces.

While entry to the exhibit is free, if you’d like to line up for a meet-and-greet/autograph session with Hinoue Itaru, you’ll need to purchase a $40 ticket. Purchasing a ticket includes a signed print. Tickets will be limited to 100 people per day. Signing sessions will take place on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th between 1:00 and 5:00 pm.
JAST USA is an English-language publisher of Japanese video games founded by Peter Payne of J-List. The company is known for releasing the English translation of the original Steins; Gate visual novel as well as titles such as School Days HQ, The Song of Saya ~ Saya no Uta, Shiny Days, and Sonicomi: Communication with Sonico.
J18 Publishing and J-List carry many doujinshi by the artists featured at the Yabai Exhibit.
