AnimeJapan has announced the results of its annual “Manga We Want to See Animated 2025,” also known as “AniRank,” the highly anticipated event where fans vote for manga they wish to see adapted into anime. This year, 156,909 votes were cast, determining the top 10 manga titles that fans are eager to see animated in 2025.
The ranking, which has previously featured titles like SPY×FAMILY, The Apothecary Diaries and The Dangers in My Heart before their successful anime adaptations, serves as a significant indicator of potential future anime projects. You can also check out the previous year:

- Nue’s Exorcist (Nue no Onmyouji) by Kota Kawae (Shueisha)
- Synopsis: High school student Gakuro Yajima has been able to see supernatural beings known as “Genyo” since childhood. On his first day of high school, he encounters Nue, a spirit with an interest in subcultures, who enlists him to exorcise Genyo lurking in the school.

- Usotsuki! Gokuo-kun (Liar! Gokuo-kun) by Makoto Yoshimoto (Shogakukan)
- Synopsis: Gokuo-kun is a master of deception—both in telling lies and exposing them. Together with his pet crow-cat hybrid, he investigates the many falsehoods that permeate his school.

- Ugly Duckling of the Entertainment District (Minikui Yukaku no Ko) by Narushi Kariya (Comisma Inc.)
- Synopsis: High school girl Esora suddenly finds herself in an unknown pleasure district and is sold to a brothel, where she is told she can become the top courtesan. A tale of struggle and beauty set in a fantasy red-light district.

- Gokurakugai by Yuto Sano (Shueisha)
- Synopsis: In the lawless pleasure district of Gokurakugai, problem solvers Tao and Alma take on cases that expose the supernatural darkness lurking within the city.

- Akuyaku Reijou no Naka no Hito (The Person in a Villainess) by Nazuna Shiraume (Manga), Makiburo (Original Story), Mai Murasaki (Character Design) (Ichijinsha)
- Synopsis: When Remilia, a villainess in an otome game, is falsely condemned, the real Remilia, who had been passively watching from within, awakens to take vengeance.

- Junket Bank by Kazuhito Tanaka (Shueisha)
- Synopsis: In a secret underground gambling den managed by a bank, people wager obscene amounts of money in life-or-death games of chance.
- Author’s Comment: “I’d love to see my characters animated! I’ll keep working hard to make that a possibility.”
- Love Bullet by Inee (Kadokawa)
- Synopsis: After dying without ever experiencing love, high school girl Koharu is reborn as a Cupid. However, her job is not to shoot arrows, but bullets that manipulate fate.
- Author’s Comment: “Making the top 10 is a dream come true! I would love to see my story animated one day.”
AnimeJapan’s “Manga We Want to See Animated” ranking has always been a strong indicator of future anime projects. Many past high-ranking titles, including SPY×FAMILY, The Apothecary Diaries, Bokuyaba, Solo Leveling, etc. went on to receive successful anime adaptations. While no official announcements have been made, most of the top-ranked manga are likely to be considered for anime adaptations in the near future.
The AnimeJapan 2025 event will take place at Tokyo Big Sight on March 22-23, 2025, featuring industry panels and exclusive reveals for many different franchises. Further updates regarding potential anime adaptations may be announced during the event.
