Bocchi the Rock (stylized as Bocchi the Rock!) anime is based on a 4-Koma manga by Aki Hamaji. The serialization started in 2017 in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Max. The story follows Hitori Gotou, a lonely high-schooler who dreams about being in a band. Gotou plays the guitar but can’t work up the courage to reach out to people and connect. However, all that changes after she meets Nijika Ijichi. Nijika is a drummer and just happens to be looking for a guitarist for her band.
